Job description
Detailed duties and responsibilities
·Operates control panel to regulate temperature, pressure, rate of flow, and tank level in petroleum refining, processing, and treating units and petrochemical units, according to process schedules: Observes instruments and meters to verify specified conditions and records readings.
·Moves and adjusts dials, switches, valves, and levers on control panel to regulate and coordinate process variables, such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, catalyst, and chemicals as specified.
·Reports malfunctioning equipment to Refinery Manager
·Records results of laboratory analyses.
·May test products for chemical characteristics and color, or send them to laboratory for analysis.
·May change recording charts and ink pens.
·May operate auxiliary equipment to assist in distilling or treating operations.
·May lubricate equipment.
·May be designated according to type of unit or process as Control-Panel Specialist, Cracking Unit; Control-Panel Specialist, Crude Unit; Control-Panel Specialist, Polymerization Unit; Control Panel Specialist, Solvent-Treating Unit.
Profile
Qualifications
·Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry or related field.
·At lease 10 years' experience directly in petrochemical, chemical and Oil and Gas Refinery Industry.
·Knowledge of DCS control for petrochemical/chemical production process.
·Possess in-depth knowledge of process safety, chemical reaction and calculation.
·Good communicative English.
·Good skill of computer esp. MS Office programs.
·Possess functional competency set e.g. Safety Awareness, Drive for Result, Process Management, Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Leadership.
