We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC / Qatar for a:
Sr. Quantity Surveyor
This position is a unique opportunity to To assist the Project Management Team and in particular the Construction Manager in the material control, tracking and documentation from supplier handover up to storage in Contractor’s premises and utilisation by Contractor. Control quantities measurement and documentation of earthworks, instrastructure works and any other works performed on re-measurable contract basis.
Key Job Accountabilities
Assists the project management team and in particular the Construction Manager, in establishing and applying the the material control, tracking and documentation, from supplier handover up to storage in Contractor’s premises and utilisation by Contractor.
Establishes with Contractor a system to measure, verify and report volumes of earthworks and civil infrastructure works.
Establishes with Contractor a system to track and report the daily use and location of used or stored material according to nesting plans. Monitor the trend of contingencies and verifies that no shortages are foreseen.
Validates measures of installed quantities with Contractor in full accordance with the contractual method of measurement; preparing progress valuations, reports and forecasts to completion of all activities
Issues a weekly material status report to the Project Management Team.
Maintains a register of material issues and participate to their prompt resolution.
Expedites required documentation to handover to Contractor or receive from contractor when related to material.
Contributes to close-out report, including disposition of left-over material.
Attends to meeting as requsested by Management
Profile
Qualifications
Preferred: Diploma in Civil Engineering or land surveying
· Training and experience in quantities control and material management and storage.
Knowledge and/or Experience
· 10+ years of experience in quantities survey on earthworks civil infrastructure works. Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
· Hand-on experience with topographic surveys and site earthworks measurement.
· Previous experience and understanding of applied project controls in a re-measurable contract environment (maintly quantity and quality controls)
· Good interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
· pplication and in depth knowledge of project specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards.
Technical and Business Skills
· A good proficiency in written and spoken English.
· Ability to communicate with Contractor’s team and obtain required information as requested by his supervisor/manager.
· Good mathematical skills
· Rigorous approach to documentation administration
· Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications to prepare status of material.
